How the EPF estimate is calculated
The calculator derives monthly employee and employer EPF contributions from Basic Salary plus DA, adds them to the balance each month, estimates interest using the annual rate divided by 12, and credits accumulated interest after each completed year.
Monthly contribution
Basic plus DA multiplied by the entered employee and employer EPF percentages.
Projection period
Retirement age minus current age, with the same salary assumed throughout.
Interest
A constant annual rate is used even though actual EPF rates are declared for individual financial years.
This model excludes salary growth, voluntary PF, transfers, withdrawals, contribution gaps, pension benefits and changes in wage ceilings or EPF/EPS allocation.
